About The Nakamotard
The Nakamotard is an independent satirical publication about money, markets, economics, politics, Bitcoin, business, technology, and the increasingly elaborate scams we’ve agreed to call society.
It was founded in August 2026 by a small group of hilarious Bitcoiners who made the unfortunate mistake of learning how money works.
This turned out to be a gateway drug.
First they discovered Bitcoin. Then they started asking perfectly reasonable questions like: Where does money come from? Why is everyone in debt? Why does the government owe $40 trillion to a financial system it ultimately controls? Why do economists celebrate when things get more expensive slightly slower? Why does Wall Street dismiss something as worthless for ten years and then launch an ETF charging you to own it? And why does every temporary emergency somehow require another trillion dollars?
Eventually, the group reached the only intellectually defensible conclusion:
Everything is insane and somebody should be making fun of it.
And so, The Nakamotard was born.
Not because the world needed another financial publication featuring men in quarter-zips explaining the yield curve.
Not because civilization was suffering from a shortage of LinkedIn thought leadership.
And certainly not because anyone involved possessed the judgment required to operate a media company.
The Nakamotard exists because modern economic and political life has become so relentlessly absurd that conventional news sometimes feels like satire written by people who forgot the punchline.
We simply put the punchline back in.
Award-Losing Journalism
Our mission is to chronicle the grand theater of modern civilization with the seriousness it deserves, which is to say, very little.
Politicians spend money they don’t have.
Central bankers adjust the price of money while insisting they can’t possibly know what happens next.
Wall Street invents increasingly sophisticated ways to charge fees on things people could already own.
Corporations fire 12,000 employees and watch their stock go up.
Economists forecast GDP to one decimal place immediately after explaining that the outlook is highly uncertain.
Bitcoiners correctly identify several structural problems with the global monetary system and then spend six hours screaming at each other about a JPEG.
Nobody is safe.
The Nakamotard is Bitcoin-friendly, but it is not a Bitcoin church bulletin. We reserve the right to make fun of fiat currencies, central bankers, politicians, economists, Wall Street, crypto grifters, Bitcoin maximalists, ourselves, and anyone else taking part in the enormous multiplayer role-playing game we call the economy.
Our only real editorial bias is toward noticing when something ridiculous has somehow become normal.
Why Subscribe?
Subscribing is free, painless, and currently requires considerably less personal information than applying for a mortgage.
Sign up and new stories will be delivered directly to your inbox as they’re published, bypassing the mysterious algorithms that have correctly determined you would rather see a stranger arguing about politics than the publication you intentionally subscribed to.
You’ll also have access to the full archive of everything we’ve published before and everything still to come.
Think of it as your own private library of economic degeneracy.
Except unlike a normal library, considerably more of the material involves monetary debasement.
Independent, Because Apparently Someone Has To Be
The Nakamotard is independently published.
There is no giant media conglomerate deciding what we’re allowed to joke about, no investment bank quietly reviewing our coverage, and no committee of management consultants developing a six-phase roadmap for optimizing the humor vertical.
Subscriptions help keep the site alive, the servers running, and the editorial department supplied with the quantities of caffeine required to observe modern civilization for extended periods.
If you enjoy what we do, subscribe.
If you really enjoy what we do, tell someone else.
If you hate what we do, feel free to subscribe anyway so you can monitor the situation closely.
Either way, welcome.
